![]() ![]() And if the parents of that child become frustrated and start arguing with each other at 3:00 am (as was our experience) you can expect to hear all of that as well. If you end up in a room close to a child that wakes up crying and screaming several times a night (as we did) you can expect a sleepless night. Walls and floors between rooms are paper thin and because the lodge is child-centric, it's impossible to escape the noise of running, stomping, and screaming coming from the hallways as well as other rooms. We were given the royal run-around with this issue and were bounced back and forth from security to management with countless empty promises of being called back. For us, it was a tire puncture from a nail in the right front tire of our rental vehicle. During our 3-day stay, a handful of guests incurred damage to their vehicles due to construction. Not only is parking severely reduced but considering construction starts early in the morning, you can count on being awakened by the beeping of trucks backing up more than you can count on an alarm. Not to mention that the parking lot is impaired by fencing and construction vehicles. Trying to get down the hallway to our room we had to navigate luggage through the midst of several workers who didn't even attempt to move. However, construction is literally throughout the entire lodge, the dust is thick in the air and covers the parked cars, some amenities are closed, and hallways and doorways are ripped up and full of workers. We were informed prior to our arrival that only certain small areas of the lodge are affected by the refurbishment and that it would not affect our stay. The current state of renovation and construction is downplayed by management to the point of being a lie. After insisting on housekeeping, we went out for the day and returned later to discover that housekeeping had left our door slightly open and unlocked, thereby leaving all our belongings at risk. The toilet was so outdated in the second bathroom that inside the bowl was rusted and grossly dirty. After that, we learned our lesson and ended up covering the bathroom floor with towels to soak up the water as we showered. Initially, I didn't realize there was a problem so I ended up slipping in a pool of water as of the very first shower. The shower curtain in the walk-in shower stall of the second bathroom wasn't long enough to prevent water from spraying onto the bathroom floor so the floor was always wet and a safety hazard. Despite complaining, it was still there upon checkout. The room was never vacuumed - before or after we arrived - considering we arrived to find gum wrappers left on the floor along with a big sticky piece of gum that was squashed into the carpet right beside one of the beds. But even a text wasn't a guarantee, nor were our expectations met when they finally showed up considering one bed was made with stained sheets, and the wet towels and bathmat were only folded and put back into place, thereby making it "look" like they had been replaced. Some staff members claimed that housekeeping is not allowed to enter your room after you've checked in while others insisted that guests must use the Great Wolf text bot called "Willow" in order to request housekeeping services. Plus, the staff contradict each other with their explanations. Although the website promises daily housekeeping, this is not the case. We opted for a Grizzly Bear Suite and were extremely disappointed by the condition of the room.
