![]() ![]() I have configured the server to share %userprofile%\My Pictures, %userprofile%\My Music, %userprofile%\My Videos and \\DLINK\MediaFiles On MYPC I have installed the Twonky Media Server. The DLINK has the media server enabled and set to share media from the folder /MediaFiles. In this folder are all my pictures, videos and music. On DLINK I have a folder in the root called /MediaFiles. There are three devices on the LAN, VIERA (the TV), MYPC (my PC) and DLINK (the DNS-323). The TV has an Ethernet port and it connects to my LAN. In order to see the folders contents from the D link on the TV you'll need to connect the D link to a set top box or device which acts as a media player and you can use the remote control of the digital set top box to browse folders and play the media. I am using the digital set top box as the media player for the USB external hard drive Now I can connect this external hard drive to my PC via USB and run the video and audio out composite to AVS 1 in on the TV with similar results to your setup.īut that way I can only see on my TV my desktop and what my media player is playing I cannot browse folders from the TV only from the PC desktop MY digital set top box has an inbuilt hard drive and dvd recorder twin HD tuners including a media player That was why i wrote how i had my external hard drive ( storage) connected to the digital set top box< like a carrier for video to the TV. The D link is a storage device only it's a server of what ever you have onit not a media player or carrier If I load the Twonky Media application ( carrier) then I can stream that to the TV via what connections to the TV? Ok please explain how you're doing this>when I go into it on the TV>I get presented with the three logical categories Photos, Video and Music. I just scroll through them and click play on my selection and can watch the video on the TV. and images so I had to take my video out of the folders and leave them outside. It brings up a menue of all the files on the TV of my external usb2 hard driveīut the Panasonic only supports avi with divx. The Panasonic is connected to the TV in AVS 2 using 2 rca cables one for audio left and right and one for video I have an xternal hard drive 1 terabyte with home videos onboard, I can connect this drive via USB to in on my Panasonic digital set top box hard drive recorder, << this acts as a media player ![]() On the desktop using display properties put it to clone mode then whatever media is played on the desktop will be screen on the TV. Normally the process to view video on the TV would be to connect the PC video card TV out s-video or composite rca to TV in AVS 1 using rca or which ever cables is supplied. The fact you can see folders but the folders are empty indicates the files are not recognised and maybe you need a media player to play them. ![]() I dont have experience with the Dlink but from my knowledgbase if you want to view the video on the TV you would need to play the files in that media player. ![]()
